Jesus, dear Saviour, during these days of Lent, I want to fast, to repent and to pray. Above all else I want to stay in the circle of Your love. Walk with me and surround me with Your light; lead me and guide me in Your footsteps. During this season of Lent help, me to follow You and imitate Your love. May this cross remind me today and throughout Lent of Your great love for me. Amen.

Stations of the Cross

On the final day of Term 1 (Friday 11 April), the school will be involved in celebrating the Stations of the Cross from 2:15pm.  This will occur in the Undercover Area.  All welcome.

Parent/Teacher Meetings

On Tuesday 1 April, all teaching staff from PP to Year 6 will be conducting parent teacher meetings as part of the school’s reporting procedure.  The purpose of this compulsory meeting is to have a 10-15-minute discussion about each student, giving parents an overview of their child’s academic and social/emotional progress before the Semester 1 report is received at the end of Term 2.  To facilitate enough timeslots for parents to meet with their child’s teacher, the end of the school day will be at 12.00pm.  Due to the early close, pick-up arrangements must be made for your child on this day.  OSHC will be available for enrolled families from 12pm until 6pm.

Harmony Day

Thank you to everyone who embraced Harmony Day last Friday by coming to school dressed in your national attire or in orange.  Thank you also to Mr Tucker, Ms Johnson, Ms McIntyre, and the Year 4 Blue class for leading the morning assembly.

A huge thank you also to all our wonderful families for sending in delicious treats from your culture. The children really enjoyed sampling all of the amazing flavours! The Discipleship Councillors worked tirelessly right through their recess and lunch breaks and raised a whopping $749.60 for Project Compassion!

Year 6 Camp

From Wednesday 2 – Friday 4 April, the Year 6 students, Mr Cox, Miss Vitanza, Mr Mallard, Miss Derschow, Ms Johnson, Mrs Finlay, Mrs Konle, and Mr Bienkowski will be attending the Year 6 Camp.  It will be held at Ern Halliday Recreation Camp in Hillarys.  The students will be involved in a range of outdoor and indoor activities to enhance their team-building skills.

Run Club

What an incredible effort from our Year 2 to 6 students this term at Run Club. Together, our runners have covered an impressive 489 kilometres! Well done to everyone who participated and showed up every Friday morning, you should be very proud of your achievements!

Interschool Cricket Carnival

On Monday 7 April, the Year Sixes will participate in an Interschool Cricket Carnival against other Catholic schools in the region.  It will be held at Sutherland Park, Huntingdale.  The best of luck to both Xavier teams competing.

Easter Hat Parade

As part of our Easter celebration this year, students will be having an Easter Hat Parade on Wednesday 9 April at 2.30pm. For this event to run smoothly, we are asking if you could please donate Easter craft materials. There are examples of objects we are needing on the attached poster, and these can be purchased from Kmart, Red Dot or the Reject Shop. Can we please have these donations by Friday 4 April. We look forward to seeing what the children can create!

Important Notice

A reminder for families yet to return any outstanding notices that were given out at the beginning of the year (e.g., medical, use of images/ICT use/excursion permission & family details), could you please sign and return these important notes to your child’s class teacher or to the front office ASAP.

School Carpark

This message is in relation to the ongoing parking issues in the school and parish carpark.

We have been contacted by the City of Armadale Council who have advised that they will be coming to the school for spot check patrols. They will issue fines where necessary, with a particular emphasis on people parking in ACROD bays – these infringements will receive a $500 fine from the City of Armadale.

Parking in the school grounds is limited to marked bays only. Please do not park anywhere that is clearly marked NO PARKING. Double parking and blocking other cars is unacceptable.

There is plenty of extra parking at the back of the school accessed by the service road that comes off Forrest Road, slightly west of the western entrance to the school.

All members of our school community need to be more aware of the fact that this ongoing issue is solely about CHILD SAFETY. To ensure harmony in the school carpark, we ask that everyone follows our basic parking guidelines and show all community members respect.

Advising the school of your child's absence

Unfortunately advising the school of your child’s absence via SeeSaw is not an option anymore. This is because class teachers don’t always have the time to check for absentees in the morning. If they don’t see your SeeSaw message, your child will be marked absent and an SMS will be automatically sent out. This can be avoided by parents following the procedure of clicking on this link, scrolling to the bottom of the page, and clicking on ‘Absentees’ : https://xavier.wa.edu.au/contact-us/
