The next MJR Award will be presented at the Year 4 Gold Assembly on Friday 27 March.

From Wednesday 18 March – Friday 20 March, the Year 6 students, Mr Papp, Mrs Sullivan, Mrs Cutri, Mrs Finlay, Mrs Konle, and Mr Bienkowski will be attending the Year 6 Camp.  It will be held at Ern Halliday Recreation Camp in Hillarys.  The students will be involved in a range of outdoor and indoor activities.

A BIG thank you to the P&F for hosting the Welcome Back Family Night last Friday evening.  Despite the warm weather, the response from our families was very positive.  Thank you to everyone who attended and enjoyed the evening.

Early next term, the Years 1, 2, and Pre-Primary classes will be attending swimming lessons at Armadale Recreation Centre. These will run from Tuesday 21st April and end Friday 1st May. As this is the second day back to school in Term 2, the permission slips will be sent home today. They are due back to the classroom teachers by Friday 27th March (end of week 8). ALL children will be swimming unless a medical certificate is provided to the Principal – admin@xavier.wa.edu.au

On Friday 20 March, the school will celebrate Harmony Day.  Students, parents, and staff are invited to come to school dressed in either their national costume or in orange.  Students will complete Harmony Day activities in class during the day.

A reminder to families that all important notes and permission forms distributed at the recent Parent Information Meeting (medical, use of images/ICT use/excursion permission & family details) should have been returned to school by now.  Could families with outstanding documents please complete, sign, and return them to your child’s class teacher, or to the front office asap.

You may like to put the Annual Easter Hat Parade in your diaries. It will be on Wednesday 1st April at 9am. Weather permitting, it will be on the junior oval, otherwise in the Undercover Area. We hope lots of parents can come to see the terrific work that buddy classes have enjoyed doing together making their Easter hats. A message has been sent home on SeeSaw requesting decorations that can be used in making the hats to be sent to the classrooms.

On Wednesday 25 March, all teaching staff from Pre-Primary to Year 6 will be conducting parent teacher meetings as part of the school’s reporting procedure.  The purpose of this compulsory meeting is to have a 10-15-minute discussion about each student, giving parents an overview of their child’s academic and social/emotional progress before the Semester 1 report is received at the end of Term 2.  To facilitate enough timeslots for parents to meet with their child’s teacher, the end of the school day will be at 12.00pm.  Due to the early close, pick-up arrangements must be made for your child on this day.  OSHC will be available for enrolled families from 12pm until 6pm.

A reminder that the next P&F Meeting will be held on Tuesday 10 March at 6.00pm in the staffroom.  We look forward to seeing you there.
