The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God – Luke 1:35
(Annunciation of the Lord – 25 March)

As this is the final newsletter of Term 1, we would like to wish all our families a safe and enjoyable Easter holiday. It has been a busy but productive term, and we know everyone is looking forward to a well-deserved break.
Term 2 recommences on Monday 20 April.

MJR (Make Jesus Real) Award

Congratulations to Iyanu Odukoya (6G) who is our recent MJR Award recipient. “Iyanu consistently demonstrates a caring and welcoming demeanour towards all those she meets.  She is a polite and considerate member of the Xavier school community and will go out of her way to assist those in need. Iyanu makes Jesus real through her positive interactions with students, staff and parents and we are very lucky to have Iyanu as a shining star in our school.  Congratulations on your award Iyanu!”  Read more about Iyanu’s reaction to winning the MJR Award.

The next MJR Award will be announced as part of the Year 3 Blue Assembly on Friday 15 May.

Project Compassion donations

As we grow closer to the end of Lent, we send a reminder about our major fundraiser for Project Compassion. If any more PC boxes are required, please ask at the office as we still have many unused ones. It’s a good reminder for children about what we should all be doing during Lent – prayer, fasting and almsgiving.

Year 6 Camp

What a wonderful 3 days the Year Sixes had at Ern Halliday Recreation Camp last week.  The weather was great (although a little hot & humid), the activities were challenging, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time.  A HUGE thank you to Mrs Sullivan, Mr Papp, Mrs Cutri, Mrs Finlay, and Mrs Konle for supervising the students and making camp an enjoyable experience.

Important Documents

A reminder to families that all important notes and permission forms distributed at the recent Parent Information Meeting (medical, use of images/ICT use/excursion permission & family details) should have been returned to school by now.  Could families with outstanding documents please complete, sign, and return them to your child’s class teacher, or to the front office asap.
