Dear Heavenly Father, you sent your only begotten son into this world of dust and ashes so He might bring new life to the world. Strengthen us as we share His words of forgiveness and life, that many rise from the dust of despair and look to you for hope and new life; through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen
(Ash Wednesday – March 5th)

Fun Science experiments for the long weekend!

Looking for a fun and educational activity to do with your child over the long weekend? Try these simple science experiments using everyday materials! Each experiment links to what students have been learning in Physical Sciences this term and will help them build a deeper understanding through hands-on experience.

We’ve also included some guiding questions to spark curiosity and discussion. These will help your child connect what they see in the experiment to their learning in class, making it easier for them to recall and build on these concepts later.

Enjoy some quality time together while exploring sound, heat, forces, light, and electricity in an exciting and memorable way!

NAPLAN Online

From Wednesday 12 until 24 March, students in Years 3 & 5 will participate in NAPLAN Online (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) testing.  This is an annual assessment that evaluates student skills in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and numeracy.

Student Residential Address Collection

At the beginning of each year, Catholic schools are asked to supply the Department of Education with the residential address of every student enrolled in the school.  A letter outlining the reason for this collection of information was recently sent out to families.  If you do not want the school to provide this information to the Department of Education, could you please inform the school office via email or phone call by no later than Wednesday 5 March.

Advising the school of your child's absence

Unfortunately advising the school of your child’s absence via SeeSaw is not an option anymore. This is because class teachers don’t always have the time to check for absentees in the morning. If they don’t see your SeeSaw message, your child will be marked absent and an SMS will be automatically sent out. This can be avoided by parents following the procedure of clicking on this link, scrolling to the bottom of the page, and clicking on ‘Absentees’ : https://xavier.wa.edu.au/contact-us/

School Drop Off and Pick Up

The school understands that due to unexpected circumstances, there will be times for families when student pick up and/or drop off arrangements change.  If possible, please inform the school asap if a message needs to be sent to a child regarding a change in circumstances.  If the school receives consistent messages of late pick up or early drop off, an alternative arrangement such as OSHClub will need to be sought by parents.

A reminder that children cannot be dropped to school before 8.15am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Breakfast Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays commences at 7.45am and children will be supervised from this time on those two days.

Please do not drop your child/ren at the back of the school before official drop off times, as they are not supervised by an adult.
