Almighty ever-living God, who assumed the Immaculate Virgin Mary, the Mother of your Son, body and soul into heavenly glory, grant we pray, that, always attentive to the things that are above, we may merit to be sharers of her glory. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Our Lady of the Assumption, pray for us!
(Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, August 15)

Pope's Pyjama Day
Performing Arts Festival
Three Year 6 students went to the Catholic Education Office Chapel in West Leederville to participate in the Bible Reading section of the PAF on Friday 25 July. They all read beautifully and should be proud of their efforts. On Thursday 31 July, Mr Leeder took the drum group for the Percussion ensemble section to perform their two pieces. We have since learned that they earned an award of Excellence. On Monday 4 August, Year 5B entered the Choral Speech section. They have also received an award of Excellence! The Dance Troupe Sr performance will be at the Convention centre tonight. Next Tuesday, 19 August, the choir will also present their songs at St Benedict’s school. We wish all Xavier students the best as they represent our school in the Arts.

STEAM Day
Our STEAM event was inspired by the National Science Week theme “Decoding the Universe – Exploring the unknown with nature’s hidden language.” The event, Decode & Discover: Universe Unlocked allowed students to explore how patterns, codes, and systems are found in nature and technology, and how these can be used to solve problems, create, and communicate. Huge thanks to Miss Tucker for the mammoth task of planning a whole day event for the children.
