O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you, and with a lively sorrow for my sins, I offer you this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to your will. Grant, good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you. Protect me in the midst of danger. Comfort me in my afflictions. Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.

Sacrament of Reconciliation
Congratulations to the 23 Year 3 students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time last evening. It was a beautiful celebration for all involved. Thank you to Fr Mark, Mr Armstrong, Miss Deuter for preparing the students so well, Mrs Konle for the work behind the scenes and to Mr Leeder and the music ministry for their support.
International Day of Play
To celebrate the International Day of Play in conjunction with our focus on Play-Based Learning, students across our Early Years and Junior Primary classes engaged in a variety of imaginative, collaborative and educational play experiences. From role-playing at a Bunnings store, exploring dinosaur-themed challenges, and acting out nursery rhymes, to creating Lego masterpieces, investigating underground animal habitats, and playing maths games, students developed important skills through hands-on learning. Play provided opportunities to strengthen communication, cooperation, problem-solving, creativity and mathematical thinking, while fostering curiosity and joy. Year 2 students also used puppets and dioramas to inspire their storytelling, demonstrating how play can spark imagination and support learning across all areas of the curriculum.

National Simultaneous Storytime 2026
National Simultaneous Story-time is a worldwide event where almost all the population read the same book at the same time! In the year of 2026, the book ‘Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller’. Xavier Catholic School participated as well. Our wonderful teacher, Mrs Boyd, read the book to the whole school . The book ‘Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller’ tells the story of a young kangaroo, who is looked down on by her fellow soccer players, becoming the captain of the FC Outback soccer team. She eventually gains respect among her group as the captain. After Mrs Boyd read the whole book, there were various activities to choose from. Such as:
- Mindfulness Colouring
- Make your own soccer field out of crafting materials
- Pin the soccer ball on the goal
- Colour in your own soccer jersey
- Create your own Luna Roo mask
- Create your own soccer field out of Legos
- Reread the book with a teacher
We had so much fun during these activities. The moral of the story in ‘Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller’ is that courage and determination will help you reach higher and overcome self-doubt. The event was both enjoyable and educational. Although it was extremely messy, it was fun and we had a great time with our buddies, and everyone participated with enthusiasm. At the conclusion of the event, we all headed back to our classrooms with a memory to cherish.

Big Battery Rescue
At the Big Battery Rescue event, we discovered how to recycle batteries by using the materials inside, such as mercury, lead and nickel. These materials are a huge problem when they end up in landfill, as they can harm plants and animals and are incredibly hard to clean up. Thankfully, we can recycle them!
The Big Battery Rescue person even did a handstand in the middle of the undercover area to grab our attention and get us to listen. We also learned about the different types of batteries.
We had a fun competition where we had to pass batteries to the front of the stage, and group one won, showing how easy it is to recycle them. All you need to do is bring them to the school and put them in the battery recycling bin. He also mentioned a fundraiser where if you donate 50kg of batteries, you can earn $50. Our school could win up to $800 and even a pizza party in one of the classrooms just for recycling batteries. All batteries are welcome.
Oh, and please remember to keep rubbish out of the battery recycling bin. It’s the one outside the support room in the undercover area. Let’s all keep recycling and do our part, be battery smart!

4-Year-Old Kindergarten Interviews 2027
2027 Kindy interviews have commenced and will continue until the end of Term 2. The interview process is a wonderful opportunity to meet new families, their child and to answer any questions they may have about the school or the 4-Year-Old Kindy program. Mrs Konle, and Mrs Finlay will interview families who have children already enrolled in the school.
Student Absences
As it is a legal requirement, class teachers will be contacting parents/carers who have not formally resolved their child’s absences for this term. Please ensure you complete and return any documentation provided by your child’s teacher, so their absences can be resolved.
