Dear Lord, we thank you for a chance to begin the 2024 school year. Bless all the staff, students, and families in our community. We pray that your spirit guides us in all our endeavours. Amen.

Welcome back to the 2024 school year!  Welcome to those families with children beginning school for the first time, those new to our school and those who are returning. We hope you all enjoy your time here at Xavier.  Despite the HOT weather, everyone has settled into the new year exceptionally well.

Welcome back to our wonderful staff, and to our newest members of staff; Miss Hollie Male (Kindy Blue), Miss Amy Rimmer (Year 1 Gold), Miss Jaymie-Lee Deuter (Year 3 Blue), Miss Vanessa Vitanza (Year 5 Blue), Ms Louella Foreman (Educational Assistant), Mrs Monna Baugbog (Educational Assistant) and Ms Amy Gerick (Social Worker).  A warm welcome back to Ms Kristy Barns (Educational Assistant).

Opening School/Year 6 Commissioning Mass

Last Friday, the school held its opening Mass in which it commissioned the Year 6 students.  Before receiving their leadership badges, they had them blessed by Fr Mark.  Thank you to the Year 6 teachers and Mrs Konle for preparing the Mass in such a short amount of time.

Ash Wednesday Mass

On Wednesday 14 February at 9am, Year 5 Blue will celebrate Ash Wednesday Mass with the whole school community.  This Mass marks the commencement of the Lenten Season, a time to focus our attention on three key areas in our life:  prayer, almsgiving and fasting.

Sacrament Enrolment Masses

Those students who will be receiving one of the three Sacraments this year, will need to attend either the 6.00pm Mass on Saturday 17 February, or the 9.30am or 6.00pm Mass on Sunday 18 February to enrol for the program.  Please remember to bring your enrolment form to Mass.

MJR Award

The first MJR Award for 2024 will be held as part of the Year 3 Gold Assembly on Friday 23 February.

Parent Information Night

Thank you to those families who were able to attend Wednesday night’s Parent Information Night.  We hope that you were able to gain a greater understanding of what your child’s teacher is endeavouring to achieve with the class this year and what their classroom procedures, programs and expectations are.  The continued success of our students is dependent on the regular and positive communication between home and school.

Last week, there were several important notes and permission forms sent home with every student (medical, use of images/ICT use/excursion permission & family details).  Could families please complete, sign, and return these important notes to their class teacher or to the front office ASAP.

Student Collection and Drop Off

The school understands that due to unexpected circumstances, there will be times when student pick up and or drop off arrangements change.  If possible, please inform the school ASAP if a message needs to be sent to a child regarding a change in circumstances.  If the school receives consistent messages of late pick up or drop off, an alternative arrangement such as OSHClub needs to be sought by parents.

Vacations during school term time

Occasionally, parents decide to take their children on holidays during the school term. Please ensure that you email the Principal to inform him of your plans prior to leaving on

We thank you for your attention to this matter.

P&F News

A reminder that the first P&F Meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday 13 February at 9.00am in the staffroom.  We look forward to seeing you there.
