(Queenship of Blessed Virgin Mary – August 22)
Welcome back to Miss Bethaney Tucker who will be teaching Year 5 Gold for the remainder of the year. The school has also been fortunate to acquire the services of Mr Jaxon Mallard every Thursday for the remainder of the year as part of CEWA’s Cadetship Program. Jaxon will work as an Educational Assistant in Year 2 Gold.
Sacrament of Holy Communion (Year 4)
Congratulations to all the students who will be receiving their First Holy Communion this Sunday. Mass will commence at 9.30am in the Church. A BIG thank you to Fr. Mark, Deacon Errol, Mrs Konle, Xavier Staff and especially Mr Armstrong and Miss De Laeter for all the hard work that has gone into preparing the students and the service.
Sacrament of Confirmation (Year 6)
The Sacrament of Confirmation program will commence with the Parent/Candidate Workshops to be held on the afternoons of Wednesday 6 September (4pm & 5.30pm), and Thursday 7 September (4pm). Commitment Masses will be held on the weekend of 9/10 September. All students in Year 6, will attend a sacramental retreat on Tuesday 10 October in the Parish Hall. A final rehearsal will be held for all candidates at 11am on Wednesday 25 October. The Sacrament of Confirmation will take place on Sunday 29 October commencing at 9.30am.
Make Jesus Real Award
The next MJR award will be presented at the Year 1 Gold Assembly on Friday 8 September.
P&F Father's Day Activities
On Friday 1 September, the P&F will be hosting a Father’s Day Breakfast for all our dad’s and their child/ren commencing at 7.30am. Following breakfast, all dads and their child/ren will join in some fun games & activities. The whole school will then join in celebrating the Father’s Day Prayer Service which will commence at 8.50am in the Undercover Area. The Year 2 Gold class will be organising the celebration. On Wednesday 30 August, the P&F will be holding a Father’s Day Gift Stall for Years K-6. The form is attached as a link in today’s newsletter. The price of gifts will be $7.50 each. Please complete the form, place the correct money in a sealed envelope and pop it into the P&F Drop Box located in the Undercover Area by Tuesday 30 August. Do not forget to get your Father’s Day Raffle tickets in asap. The raffle will be drawn following the Prayer Service.
4-Year-Old Kindy Interviews 2024
The 2024 Kindy enrolment interviews are continuing to be held with Leadership. The interview process has been a wonderful opportunity for us to meet families, their child and to answer any questions they may have about the school or the 4-Year-Old Kindy program.
Performing Arts Festival
Last week, the School Choir performed “Allelujah” and “Because We Believe” at St Benedict’s Parish. For their performance, they have been awarded an Excellence Award! The students should be very proud of their efforts as should Sabrina Kigida (Year 6 Blue) who performed a Primary Vocal Solo to the song “You Raise Me Up.” This evening, the Xavier Dance Troupe will perform “The Derby” at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.
Faction Athletics Carnival
This year’s Faction Athletics Carnival Field events (Years 4-6) will be held on Monday 4 September. The Track events (K-Year 6) will be held on Wednesday 6 September.
Kindy/Pre-Primary Playground Construction
The Kindy/Pre-Primary playground refurbishment is still in its construction stage. Can all parents and carers be mindful of the construction works and of the area that has been cordoned off. To ensure safety and compliance, no child or adult is allowed in the construction area.
Sporting Clinics
The school has recently had several Perth Wildcats (Alexandre Sarr & Kyle Zunic) and Western Warrior players run clinics for some of our classes. The students had a wonderful time learning new skills and spending time with the players. Hilbert even snuck in a photo opportunity.
