Holy God – May I pause right now and remember that you came from dust just for me. Help me dedicate the next 40 days to growing closer to you.

In Jesus name I pray.

Amen.

Ash Wednesday Mass

Thank you to the Year 5 Gold class for leading the school in the Ash Wednesday Mass.  This important day on the Catholic calendar reminds us that as we commence the Lenten season, it’s a time for all of us to focus our attention on three key areas in our life:  prayer, almsgiving and fasting.

As we are now in the season of Lent, our fundraising efforts are for Caritas and the yearly Project Compassion drive. The eldest child in each family should have brought a money box and information home about the fundraiser. In each classroom there is also a large box for families to donate. If more small boxes are required, please ask at the front office. Thank you to all our families for your generosity helping the school to support those people who are less fortunate than us.

Kiss & Drive/Carpark

Thank you to those parents who are consistently patient and respectful of the rules regarding the kiss and drive and the school carpark.  As mentioned at the recent Parent Information Night, the front carpark near the Administration building is reserved for staff parking and ACROD permit holders.  This area is clearly marked.  Can I ask families to please refrain from parking in this area during before school drop off & after school pick up times.  The safety of our students is paramount, and I urge all parents to continue to be vigilant and mindful when dropping off and picking up their child/ren.

Congratulations to Gemma Bogoni (2B) who is this month’s MJR Award recipient.  She was nominated by members of the school community for: For always being positive in her attitude and approach towards her teachers and peers.  She consistently demonstrates MJR qualities by taking care of people and showing wonderful manners.  Gemma is a WESTIE through and through – she is always welcoming, mindful of those around her, enthusiastic, encouraging of her peers and grateful for everything she receives.  Congratulations Gemma on your award!”

Student Residential Address Collection

At the beginning of each year, Catholic schools are asked to supply the Department of Education with the residential address of every student enrolled in the school.  A letter outlining the reason for this collection of information was sent out to families earlier in the week.  If you do not want the school to provide this information to the Department of Education, could you please inform the school office via email or phone call by no later than Friday 3 March.
