Taken up into Heaven. Mary, show us the way to God, the way to Heaven, the way to Life. Amen.
(The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – August 15)

Dear God,

Please sit with us here in this emotional darkness.

Help us to remember.

Let’s remember the natural peace her presence gave.

Help us remember the grace of her heart, the generosity of her spirit, the sincerity of her kindness.

Help us remember all the ways You touched the world through her goodness.

Amen.

Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Tuesday August 15)

The solemnity of the Assumption is, in some ways, the paramount feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, since it commemorates her passing, body and soul, into the glory of Heaven.  Though the dogma of the Assumption was only defined in 1950, it was widely believed by the earliest Christians.  Given her Immaculate Conception, the grave was no place for her body.

This very important Mass will be organised by Year 5 Blue and commences at 9.30am in the Church.
