Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.
Amen.

Parent Teacher Meetings

On Tuesday 21 March, all teaching staff from PP to Year 6 will be conducting parent teacher meetings as part of the school’s reporting procedure. The purpose of this compulsory meeting is to have a 10-15-minute discussion about each student, giving parents an overview of their child’s academic and social/emotional progress before the Semester 1 report is received at the end of Term 2. The end of the school day will be at 12.30pm. Pick up arrangements must be made for your child on this day. Students booked into OSHC will be supervised until 3.00pm as this service will still be running after normal school time.
Teachers will be presenting families with the opportunity to sign up and select a time to have this important discussion about your child/ren’s learning.
St Patrick's Day - Dress in Green!

Harmony Day
On Tuesday 21 March, the school will celebrate Harmony Day. We will commence the day with a Whole School Assembly led by the Year 3 Blue class. Students, parents, and staff are invited to come to school dressed in either their national costume or in orange. Students will complete Harmony Day activities in class during the day.

NAPLAN Online

From Wednesday 15 until 24 March, students in Years 3 & 5 will participate in NAPLAN Online (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) testing. This is an annual assessment that tests student skills in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and numeracy.
OSHC Vacation Care
Unfortunately, due to a lack of staffing availability, OSHC Vacation Care will not be running during the upcoming holidays. OSHC parents have been notified via a letter of this situation.

Car break-ins

We have recently received reports that there has been a spate of opportunistic car break ins at local day care centres and schools. Please be vigilant in turning off your vehicle, locking all doors and not leaving anything valuable that is easily visible in your car, even if you are just taking a ‘moment’ to collect your child from school or OSHC.
Year 6 Camp Parent Meeting
There will be a parent meeting regarding Year 6 Camp held in Year 6 Blue from 3.10pm on Wednesday 15 March. This is an opportunity for Year 6 parents to listen to the teachers discuss camp/expectations etc., and to ask questions.

Back Carpark and Driveway
Can I please remind all parents/carers who use the back carpark/driveway to adhere to the appropriate speed limit. There have been several reports of cars speeding along the bitumen driveway and/or back dirt track at excessive speed during drop off and pick up times. The safety of our students and families is of paramount importance, and this can only be achieved if EVERYONE does their part and slows down. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Swimming Lessons in Term 2
Notes have been sent home in readiness for our series of upcoming swimming lessons. All children from Pre-primary to Year 6 will be participating in the 8-day series of lessons from Wednesday April 26 through to May 5. More details will come through your class teachers closer to the date.
For now, all families need to return their child/ren’s swimming notes by the end of Week 8 (24 March). As the swimming lessons are compulsory, a medical certificate is required to be sent to the school Principal if your child is to be excluded from them.

Constable Care Incursion
All classes enjoyed the Constable Care Incursions that were held this week. The children all watched age appropriate presentations based around keeping themselves safe at home, outdoors or on the internet.
